What is an Ear Impression?

An “impression” is a cast of the Ear. Our Audologists will place a foam block into your Ear Canal to protect your ear drum, then a silicone putty will be syringed into your Ear. The material takes around five minutes to set and then a complete cast of your ear will be removed along with the foam block.  

If we are making custom hearing aids or bespoke hearing protection, then a special cast of your ear will be taken so that these products can be manufactured. There is no extra charge for the impression service if you are purchasing products from SJB Hearing Company.  

 

At SJB Hearing Company we also offer an exclusive impression service for patients who wish to use an external provider for their products. A £65 charge will apply for this service.
